Sage Scott- Interior Designer

Sage Scott

When I started my business years ago, I wanted my clients to feel that I was truly listening to their ideas and desires.

There is a notion out there that interior designers will come to your house and do what they think you need done. That goes against everything I stand for. When I am asked to help a client, I feel grateful that they trust me enough to ask me into their home.

I've met two kinds of interior design clients over the years. The first doesn't know how to turn their home decorating ideas into a reality. The second kind has no idea where to start. I am happy to assist either one.

If you are thinking of hiring an interior designer, I would love to stop by for a chat about your home. I understand that it is indeed your home and should be a reflection of you. I will work hard to help you transform it into something you will absolutely love and can't wait to show your friends.

Sincerely, Sage Scott

History of Sage's Interiors

Upon receiving her AA degree, Sage Scott's career began as a consultant in the interior design department of a local furniture and carpet store. She soon realized she had found her "dream" job and returned to school to continue her training.

Sage with Mary Kraft Frey, former interior design editor to Good Housekeeping Magazine.

Sage Scott with Mary Frey

In addition to her schooling, Sage worked and tutored with Mary Kraft Frey, former interior design editor of Good Housekeeping Magazine and a member of "Who's Who of Interior Design."

A few years later, Sage recognized a need to offer a wider area of interior design services around New London, N.H.. In 1988, Sage's Interiors was created.

Sage says, "I feel one of the keys to my successful business is listening to my clients. After all, it is their home."

Sage aims to create timeless interiors that blend both traditional and contemporary styles. She feels that homes should evoke feelings that the interior spaces were created just for you.

She especially enjoys intertwining cherished family heirlooms, such as an antique chair that belonged to grandma, a special piece of artwork, or a favorite pillow, into the newly designed space. She will carefully pick out window treatments, floor coverings, wallpapers and/or room accessories that will complement these important items and at the same time, reflect the lifestyles and personalities of the homeowners.

Sage helped me transform a tired "salt box" in Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard into a fresh summer cottage. We worked together from the start of construction to the last piece of furniture.

She was so committed to a good job that the hurdles of long distance, changing deadlines and the logistics of island repairs never phased her.
